Our Internal Market & Consumers Team has a high-profile, expanding project portfolio including for the European Commission and its agencies across a range of policy topics such as SMEs & entrepreneurship, industry & sustainability, digital markets, consumer empowerment & awareness & safety. We currently run projects and framework contracts for DG GROW, DG JUST, EISMEA, the EP IMCO and ITRE committees and others. Our success is due to our excellent team of consultants and researchers and we are now looking to strengthen our team with the appointment of two Consultants who will be focussing on qualitative and quantitative policy research and analysis.

Role description:

We are looking for experienced Consultants who will contribute to implementing projects for our core clients in the area of the internal market and consumers, in line with our vision, mission and values. As Consultant you will:

  • Collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data by means of desk research, interviews, surveys etc.;
  • Contribute to drafting proposals and project reports;
  • Develop data collection guides, questionnaires or templates;
  • Contribute to developing project methodologies.

Given sufficient experience, you will also have the opportunity to:

  • Lead smaller projects and proposals with the support of a project director;
  • Handle project communication internally with team members and externally with clients and partners;
  • Prepare and instruct colleagues for carrying out research tasks, and reviewing their contributions.

Who we are looking for:

All of the above implies that the candidate has at least the following desirable experience and skills:

  • Between 1 to 2 years work experience within the context of EU policies;
  • A strong interest in topics related to the internal market and/or consumer policy;
  • Ability to write and communicate with clients, partners, experts and colleagues in excellent English;
  • Excellent research and analytical skills;
  • Ability to take initiatives and work in an autonomous way;
  • A relevant master’s degree.

The following additional experience and skills are not a must but will be considered an asset:

  • Experience in writing competitive proposals for public-sector clients;
  • Experience in coordinating research activities;
  • Experience in leading smaller projects or project tasks;
  • Proven experience in working on internal market and/or consumer topics.

  • Study on territorial supply constraints in the EU retail sector, for DG GROW;
  • Study assessing the challenges and opportunities for market surveillance activities in relation to new technologies and digital supply chain, for DG GROW;
  • Impact Assessment Study on the simplification of the labelling requirements for chemicals and the use of e-labelling, for DG GROW;
  • The impact of COVID-19 on the Internal Market, for the EP IMCO Committee;
  • Online advertising: the impact of targeted advertising on advertisers, market access and consumer choice, for the EP IMCO Committee;
  • Study on the impact of influencers on advertising and consumer protection in the single market, for the EP IMCO Committee;
  • Study on European consumers’ over-indebtedness and its implications, for DG JUST/EISMEA;
  • Behavioural study on the assessment of a lawbot assisting consumers on online dispute resolution, for DG JUST/EISMEA.
