Research and innovation remains a cornerstone of the EU’s strategy to create growth and jobs with an investment level target of 3% of GDP in R&D by 2020 (1% public funding, 2% private-sector investment). Fulfilling this target is expected to result in the creation of 3.7 million jobs and the increase the EU’s annual GDP by nearly €800 billion.
The Innovation Union initiative brings researchers together to combat worldwide challenges including energy, food security, climate change and our ageing population. The EU is also putting efforts into creating a single European Research Area that will allow researchers to move and work within the EU and support cross-border cooperation in research projects.
Our team includes economists and researchers with long experience in projects evaluating EU Research programmes and initiatives and their impact in the creation of the ERA as well as research projects on the development, analysis and monitoring of R&D policy indicators.
The team also includes economists with research accomplishments at doctorate level as well as publications in international, peer-reviewed journals in R&D and Innovation policies. Finally, VVA is a proud member of the European Business and Innovation Network (EBN) which fosters entrepreneurship, start-ups and scale-ups at EU level and globally.
