
Iva is a Senior Research Manager at VVA Economics and Policy.
Iva has a strong background in EU policies and politics and an expertise in a wide range of policy areas including migration policy, employment, consumers or entrepreneurship. Her expertise relates in particular to impact assessments, evaluations and projects involving cross-country data collection and qualitative and quantitative analyses.
Prior to joining VVA, she gained relevant professional experience in EU affairs as a trainee in the European Parliament working for the Members of European Parliament. This has provided her with valuable experience in researching, evaluating and forecasting European policies within the scopes of JURI, IMCO and ENVI Committees as well as providing in depth analysis and advice following legislative developments in the European Institutions through her internship at the European Information Centre Jacques Delors under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic.
Iva holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations with specialty in European Studies from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal and has also completed a post-graduate course on Migration, Inter-ethnicity and Transnationalism. These complement her Bachelor’s degree from University of Leeds, UK in European Politics and Portuguese.
Iva is a native speaker of Czech and Hungarian, is fluent in English and Portuguese and has an elementary knowledge of French, German, Russian and Catalan.
In her free time, Iva enjoys analogue photography, travelling and contemporary dance.
