Cécile Jacob is a Research Analyst within the Legal Team at VVA Economics & Policy.
At VVA, she is currently working on projects launched by the European Commission for the DG GROW and conducting data collection, legal research and analysis and compliance assessments.
Before joining VVA, Cécile gained relevant experience on the EU policy-making process and EU litigation by completing internships in the Permanent Representation of Luxembourg to the EU and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, where she supported the team of Government Agents representing Belgium to the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Cécile holds a Master of Laws in EU Law and World Trade Organization Law from the University of Rennes 1, in addition to a first Master’s degree in Business Law from the University of Lyon 2. During her last year, she wrote her Master’s thesis on Article 7 of the Treaty of the European Union and the Rule of Law in Poland, which reinforced her interest and commitment to democratic values and their promotion.
Through her work experience and studies, she acquired thorough and proven knowledge of various EU policies fields, including Justice and Home Affairs, Single Market, EU Trade Policy and EU’s External Relations.
Cécile is a French native speaker, is fluent in English and has an intermediate level German. She is also learning Italian.
In her free time, Cécile enjoys jazz music, drumming, photography as well as travelling.
