Adam Zagoni-Bogsch

Adam Zagoni-Bogsch is a consultant at VVA Economics & Policy.

Zagoni-Bogsch has a thorough and proven knowledge of EU policies and expertise in a wide range of policy areas including internal market, digital, health and safety, environment, refugee law, energy as well as neighbourhood policies.

Zagoni-Bogsch provided legal opinions and analysis in refugee law for the Immigration and Asylum Office in Hungary, gave legal advice in the field of environmental, health and safety law to private clients at Enhesa, supported the work of the Commission as a trainee in the field of services policy by conducting legal analysis related to infringement procedures as well as conducted legal research and analysis for the European Commission. Moreover, he worked with a German MP involved in the field of digital and neighbourhood policy. His expertise lies in internal market, digital, environment, refugee law, energy and neighbourhood policies. Zagoni-Bogsch’s experience and interests also lay in climate issues and trade.

Zagoni-Bogsch specialises in conducting legal research and analysis. Recent relevant studies that he has managed include the 1) Study on Proportionality Assessment by the Member States when adopting the Retail Establishment related requirements pursuant to Directive 2006/123/EC on Services in the Internal Market; 2) Study to support the preparation of an impact assessment on a potential EU policy initiative on the coordination and cooperation measures to facilitate the exercise of the EU citizens’ right to consular protection; 3) Study on the identification of non-notified technical regulations in relation to Directive (EU) 2015/1535 laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical regulations and of rules on Information Society services and the application of relevant case law on inapplicability by national Courts and more.

In his previous role, as a legal and policy officer at the Refugee Directorate in Hungary, as a trainee at DG GROW at the European Commission, as an intern at the German Bundestag and as a contractor consultant at VVA, Zagoni-Bogsch carried out several legal and policy tasks, including writing policy reports and legal opinions strengthening his analytical and research skills. Zagoni-Bogsch has a law degree from ELTE University Budapest and an LL.M. from King’s College London, as well as a master’s degree from the College of Europe (European Political and Governance studies). Zagoni-Bogsch speaks Hungarian, English and German.
