Karina Pedersen is a Researcher at VVA Economics & Policy.
Throughout her studies and previous experiences Karina has focused on the use of large data sets and mixed methods to scrutinize and evaluate public policy and projects. With more than five years’ experience in the Red Cross movement, Karina brings an insight into opportunities and challenges in the charity sector, and has specialised in work on migration and reintegration, both within Europe and in the wider world.
Before joining VVA, Karina worked in international affairs in Denmark, Geneva, Ethiopia and Brussels, seeing both the EU’s and UN’s decision-making processes, and the subsequent implementation of complex and multidimensional projects in the field.
Karina holds an MSc in Sociology from the University of Copenhagen, where she specialised in the advanced quantitative and qualitative research methods and evaluation practices, in particularly as they pertained to migration, politics and social change.
As a native Danish speaker Karina has a working knowledge of the other Scandinavian languages, besides holding a C2 level of English.
On her free time, she enjoys running, travelling and reading.
