Consumer vulnerability across key markets in the European Union

VVA is a partner with London Economics and IPSOS in a consortium that will deliver a study for the European Commission on the impact of certain marketing practices on vulnerable consumers across Europe. The study focuses on different key areas, namely telecommunications, financial services, and energy. The study aims to define vulnerability, and includes a legislative review and inventory of existing practices, a large scale survey covering all EU member states, and a behavioural experiment with vulnerable consumers in a number of countries. The results of the study are likely to feed into EU level action on the protection of vulnerable consumers.
