Implementation of the new regulation on market surveillance: Indication of origin

VVA Europe has  been commissioned by the European Commission’s DG Enterprise and Industry to conduct a study on the implementation of the proposed Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on Consumer Product Safety (proposal COM(2013)78). Particular focus of this study is on Article 7 of the proposal concerning the indication of origin.

The study aims to contribute to existing discussions concerning the indication of origin by collecting data on the potential costs and benefits to industry, consumers, and national authorities associated with the proposal. The study focuses on six groups of consumer products: footwear, ceramics, domestic appliances, consumer electronics, textiles, and toys.

The study tasks include an interview programme, desk research and cost-benefit analysis.
